My passion for eyeballs sparked when I first saw a picture of my mom’s retina. I was fascinated with how we can see our own blood vessels inside of our eyes without poking the skin. During my undergraduate career, I later explored the career through shadowing various optometrists, where I fell in love with the profession; the opportunity to build long-lasting relationships with your patients and grow alongside them in life really drew me into pursuing optometry as a career.

I love that being an OD allows me to form personable relationships with my patients while also viewing the one and only organ that holds dear to my heart, which is the eyes.

In the humblest way of possibly speaking, I was very proud of myself when I was able to correct a patient’s vision to see 20/20 in contacts when previously he was not able to. The scene of that patient merely reading a few smaller lines not only made me happy but confirmed my love and passion to be an optometrist.

Another time during a mission trip to Nicaragua, I was able to help a young girl see clearly for the first time in her 17 years of life. Her face was filled with happiness upon putting on the glasses is a moment I will never forget.

I look forward to serving the Bay Area community with the best possible care for their eye health and vision. I make sure my patients understand everything regarding their eye health and are not afraid to ask me questions.
